With luxury massage and wellbeing being a key element of Gentlemans Butler we are pleased to highlight the beautiful looking Anazoe Spa at Costa Navarino in Greece.

Recently I had the pleasure of experiencing a Healing Massage Remedy from the lovely Dimitra who was in London giving massage to a select few at The Chelsea Spa .
It is an opportune moment to discuss a little more about my experience and the power of an excellent massage in a luxury spa.
I believe very strongly that the power of massage, indeed the power of touch is incredible and particularly in the world we live in today.
It was I believe 30 years ago that I had my first massage and since then I have had about 800 massage of all descriptions.

Originally I was introduced to the aesthetic side of beauty when I dabbled in modelling in my late teens and then in my early twenties had ME. I am a sufferer of anxiety & stress, have had broken legs and now have hip issues so genuinely understand the power of good massage and have had everything from deep tissue, sports, Swedish, Thai to pampering and luxuriating and if done well they all have a place.
The body is in many ways very simple, though very clever and all ancient cultures including the Greeks understood this.
The Healing Massage Remedy by Hippocrates I had is an innovative style of massage combining advanced soft-tissue therapies with techniques derived from the ancient healing art of physiotherapy. It fuses ancient therapeutic knowledge and Greek aromatherapy using unique actions from the scarf, pummelling, hot stone as well as the signature herbs so familiar to those who love Greece of rosemary, olive oil, camomile, sage, cloves and mint.
I spoke about Dimitra being lovely and without trying to embarrass her can tell you why.

In my extended experience of massage, spas and luxury beauty I believe there are three things that make a fantastic experience.
Firstly the person. You must be a carer and want to help people. If you go to hospital with an illness and am worried the power of having someone look after you who cares is immense. Spas are exactly the same. Both physically and emotionally you should open yourself up to being looked after.
Secondly the ambiance. The physical look of the spa and room, from the smell, sounds (preferably just good), to the texture of the bedding, sheets (that’s my preference) to the comfort of the bed plays a massive part. Again do not complicate this in your mind. If you are super tired and go home to a quiet, peaceful, clean, tidy and relaxing bedroom this will do its best to let you sleep well.

Thirdly the treatment itself, which in many ways is the most difficult of the 3 as there are some actions and products that feel lovely, but that’s all. Anazoe massage therapists are physiotherapists by training. It’s important to know why you are going for the massage. If you ache massively then some proper sports massage might be in order or if you feel like you are on the edge of a nervous breakdown then some full blown tender lover care and pampering is what you need.
I can only really comment on the first and third as I have not visited their Spa in Greece yet, though this is on my wish list as I am not only a spa lover but adore Greece and studied classics at school.
