Situated just off Belgrave Square it really is like a gentleman’s club. As I walked through the door its calm and very gentlemen friendly as you might expect. Coat taken, tea/coffee offered I sat in the smart leather chesterfield sofa and one of the things that became evident was the familiarity, friendship offered but with respect and privacy.
I start with my manicure, where I am taken downstairs to a private room. I sit in a vintage barber’s chair. Its quiet, peaceful and I am being looked after. The nails are cleaned, shaped and moisturised, a soothing hand massage, some maintenance advice given and headed. It’s perfect for gentlemen who want to be groomed but do not want too much fuss and still want to feel manly.
I then moved upstairs where I would have my barber experience again secluded with tv and home comforts, should I want them. I start off with a haircut, which even for my minimal approach is much needed.
Imad, their head barber, whom I had met before was all smiles and made me feel at home. Fortunately I had been taught some time ago how to shave and so for years now shave up on my neck and down on my face. I also do not shave every day, which I have learnt is a good thing, in the fact my bristles are soft.
He uses their own brand pre shave oil, followed with traditional shaving cream, hot towels, soothing aftershave balm and then daily moisturiser. For the ultimate shaving experience discover being shaved by an expert using exclusive products and swathed in steaming and freezing towels.
You not only look groomed but feel wide awake.
