Borges & Scott Teardrop Fedora, perfect Panama hats for summer. We recently attended Henley Regatta and was a perfect opportunity to find a Panama hat to match my beautiful bespoke yellow Savile Row Gentleman’s summer jacket. We chose the teardrop fedora for its elegant shape and the beige straw matched the colour perfectly, not forgetting the red and yellow band again adding a chic styling and colour co-ordinating so well.

As all of us do not need to be reminded the world needs to take global warming and ethics very seriously so I am so pleased to see they take every step to ensure their Panama hats are made in accordance with high ethical standards; and are proud members of BAFTS (British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers) and work hard to ensure that the hats are made under fair working conditions at every step.

Recently this was restored to its glory by the British Invisible Mending Service on Thayer Street.
The Jacket went to The Valet on Savile Row for a hand press, which is I believe the last hand pressing service in the UK.
Then it is doffed off wearing a Teardrop Fedora from BORGES & SCOTT
and wearing my tortoiseshell glasses from E.B. Meyrowitz situated on the Royal Arcade in Mayfair
About BORGES & SCOTT
They combine the iconic South American hat with the best elements of British quality and style.
All hats are handmade in Ecuador, meaning they are genuine Paja Toquilla straw hats, the weaving process of which has been designated as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage” item by UNESCO.
The experienced team in Bristol, England then apply the same craftsmanship, principles and standards when finishing and trimming their Panama hats.

Borges and Scott’s exclusive Panama Hats for Gentlemen have one of the widest ranges in Europe, ranging from classic Fedoras to modern Trilby styles. They stock some of the finest Monticristi weaves available (with grade 25 in stock and higher grades available on request).
Our Choice – The Teardrop Fedora – Panama Hat
Colour: Beige Straw with Red and Yellow Band
CLASSIC STYLING: The Borges & Scott Teardrop Fedora style is a great variant on the traditional Fedora Panama. It has a slightly lower and wider crown than a traditional fedora – which gives it a more modern style. It also features a “flip brim” which can be shaped down at the front and up at the rear.
LIGHT AND BREATHABLE: Handwoven in Ecuador by skilled craftsmen and women before being checked and finished in the UK. The natural Paja Toquilla straw used in this traditional Panama results in an unsurpassably light and breathable hat.
ALL DAY COMFORT: Premium quality inner sweatband ensures a comfortable fit and wicks away sweat.
Very lightweight and breathable hat. Includes full care instructions. Available in a range of color options. From traditional white with a black band to a patriotic red, white and blue-ribbon option.
