I have just seen Dita Von Teese in Diamonds and Dust and she is great. She strode onto the stage knowing she is a star. She is looking on top form and when I saw her show this week, I said I thought she had a beautiful smile at the end. It was not smug but one of pride and quiet satisfaction.
Dita Von Teese in London’s burlesque spectacular, Diamonds and Dust
Dita Von Teese, alongside Tosca Rivola, Dee Parsons and Julian Stoneman are thrilled to announce that the Steps and musical theatre star Faye Tozer will take on the iconic role of Miss Kitty LeRoy in the world premiere of a brand-new and hotly anticipated theatrical production DIAMONDS and DUST.

London’s newest West End venue, the Emerald Theatre, proudly opens its doors with the debut of DIAMONDS and DUST.
I actually think the performance was a tricky thing to get right without looking tacky or too sexualised but Dita and her encore of really first-class ensemble took us on a journey one that I know well.

I grew up on watching westerns and remember Calamity Jane played by Doris Day. I remember seeing everyone from John Wayne and Gary Cooper and of course Clint, mosey into town on their horse and of course into the saloon bar, where like our English pub everything happened from food and drink to ladies of the night, theatre and more.
The show morphs the world of the saloon, with cabaret girls and performers and of course the femme fatale and most western films has one, and I fell in love with ladies who were dressed in their finery, were romantic but were also perfectly capable of kicking out a drunk slob on their heels.
I produced this film with Dita Von Teese on a photo shoot for Harpers in about 2010 and so 15 years on she is still looking a million dollars.
DIAMONDS and DUST is a tale of the good, the bad and the lucky featuring some of the finest West End performers the UK has to offer, magnetic burlesque starlets and dangerous cirque artists. The production promises a thrilling blend of Old West lore, vintage casino culture, high-stakes stunts and Dita Von Teese’s signature glamour.

Step into our hazy saloon and let the 52-card deck decide your fate. This is the untold story of Miss Kitty LeRoy, the Wild West’s most notorious card dealer, making her own way in a man’s world while trying her hand at taming Lady Luck for herself, perhaps in vain…
You will find both the grit of the wild west and the dazzling Parisian beauty that makes men weak at the knees.

You can see in Dita’s costumes a definite nod to both these countries with I feel an added dose of dazzle from the rhinestone sequin look in her costumes.
Definitely one for the gals and a perfect one for couples.
Song, dance, cabaret, burlesque, smiles and yes, a bit of sexual tease for those who have permission to look.
