Sam’s Riverside – A Romantic meal for two by Hammersmith Bridge
The River Thames is the lifeblood that runs through London and along the way are some key landmarks, one of which is Hammersmith Bridge, one of the focal points for the famous Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race. On the Hammersmith side, south of the bridge and on one side of the famous Riverside Studios is Sam’s Riverside.

Bright, welcoming and open the aesthetics of the restaurant match perfectly the experience.
In a major city like London, you can find all sorts to eat from economical to extreme luxury and with food from all over the world. There is an absolute need for restaurants where you are made to feel very welcome and where you can switch off your brain, laugh, eat and let go.
To my mind this is exactly this kind of place. Fresh and full of flavour soul food to be enjoyed.
Sam’s Riverside opened in November 2019 and enjoys one of the loveliest river views, facing the Thames close to Hammersmith Bridge.
As well as dining in the restaurant, there is also bar counter seating, a private dining room for up to 18 people, and an outdoor terrace.
The Modern British menus focus on the very best seasonal produce from all around the UK. The kitchen is passionate about working with our small artisan suppliers, from meat, fish and seafood to fruit and vegetables. The wines have also all been handpicked by Sam, and many are from wineries that Sam has visited.

We enjoyed …
A cocktail to start the proceedings
Starter …. A beautiful, fresh and seasonal salad with olive oil and fresh bread to die for,
Steak …. was exactly what we both were thinking about before we arrived …
And with it a bottle of Torno” Rioja DOCa, Hacienda el Ternero
which was a perfect combination for a steak night.
Followed by a Summer Fruits Mille-Feuille with Mascarpone Cream.
…. Followed by more smiles and laughing ….

Sam’s Riverside Salad, bread and olive oil
The menu is very much about the best of British and Sam Harrison, a passionate restaurateur has been involved in restaurants and hotels since the age of 16 whilst Fanny Stocker started life as a waitress at Sonny’s Restaurant in Barnes. In 2008, she started working with Sam Harrison at his Sam’s Brasserie and Harrison’s Restaurants. Sam and Fanny then founded the Genuine Restaurant Group in 2017, Sam’s Riverside in 2019, Sam’s Larder in Hammersmith in 2020, and Sam’s Larder in Chiswick in 2022.

I was accompanied by a friend and we both went our separate ways, her to West London and myself to Hove by the sea but both of us independently said exactly the same thing which was we wanted to return as both of us, ate, drank, laughed and let go which if that is not what a good meal out should do, well my name is ??

One tip if you can is find a table where you can look out onto the bridge, it’s very pretty with the lights on at night.
A lovely night out.
