With the English Social Season in full flow it’s time to plan for next year. I tend to put dates in the diary and then set a reminder to between 4 and 6 months prior. If you are anything like most gentlemen out there, things will pass you by otherwise, unless your lovely partner is organising you….mmm ah yes… well if that is not the case hopefully we can help.

I headed off to Polo in the Park which was held from the 5th to the 7th June 2015 and attended on the Saturday, which was “ladies day” with a good friend of Gentlemans Butler, Daniella who is a highly successful stylist and looks after our styling bookings.

Putney Bridge Underground is 5 minutes walk and Parsons Green 10 minutes.
A short walk over Putney Bridge brings you to the Hurlingham Park, Fulham, London SW6 3RH where Polo was played up until the onset of war in 1939.
With the sun beaming away both ladies and gentlemen were dressed to impress but in a slightly more casual summer way than some of the more etiquette regulated events such as Ascot (see below)

Royal Ascot: The English Social Season – June
Having entered the event with no queuing but certainly plenty of people as the grounds were full.
We were lucky enough to go and visit the horses getting ready and to see the players in their zone.

The rules are an adaption of the real game, making it safer (soft ball) and easier to understand.
This was my first Polo event for many years but say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There a good range of bars offering all those classic summer drinks, foods, stalls and people genuinely enjoying themselves, but the sport is really quite engaging and seeing the players up close one can only admire their skills, and they really do fly.
I will be certainly heading back in 2016, with a contingent of Ladies and Gentlemen to enjoy a very relaxing, entertaining and social afternoon.
