Pique, a grand picnic with luscious offerings

Picnics are very much a summer event, so it is timely to treat readers to a lovely business called Pique which offers tasty delights for a picnic to remember. The Butler and I took a trip to Devon in our brand-new Jaguar and planned to have a picnic upon arrival. We were searching for a light afternoon lunch hamper and found Pique, which offers numerous tasty choices in their collection.
Pique offers standard themed hampers, as well as customized orders which are hand delivered to your door. Hampers include Birthday Breakfast, Summer Brunch, Leonardo de Veggie (for Vegetarians), Afternoon Tea, and the Pique-Nique as well as additional Pique hamper themes that may change with the seasons. We chose the Freedom Picnic (offered only in the Spring, but similar to the current Pique-Nique) and arranged for it to be delivered prior to our car trip. They were prompt and the hamper looked lovely. We made our way over hill and dale to a beautiful historic Engine House and gardens where we set up our meal on the picnic table amongst beautiful birdsong and a babbling brook. A few bites later and we were in picnic bliss.

The standard hamper is packed in a disposable/recyclable box, but one may upgrade to a wicker basket if requested. Pique creates these hampers in their Battersea kitchen where they take care in sourcing and using sustainable ingredients. An added bonus is that they will work with allergy and dietary requirements, making substitutions if requested.
Pique luxury picnics are perfect for a variety of events: parties, special themed occasions, corporate events, weddings, and location shoots. The menus are varied depending on your chosen theme.
An example of the Pique-Nique hamper is as follows:
• Chorizo soft yolk scotch eggs
• Caramelised onion & thyme sausage roll bites
• Lemon & herb roasted corn-fed chicken with romesco sauce & rocket
• Fresh pesto orzo pasta salad with peas & pea shoots
• Charcuterie, brie, grapes, pickles & chutney
• Summer roasted vegetable salad with lemon tahini dressing
• Herby aioli
• Hummus & crudités
• Double chocolate brownie bites
• Strawberries
• Freshly baked baguette

Your senses are sure to find a delightful, delectable and delicious experience with Pique, as we certainly did on our excursion. Just be sure to order with 48 hours’ notice online so it arrives on time.
When I spoke to them on the phone to find out more, my sense was of a go-ahead young business who were going places and the results certainly did not disappoint.
