For many of us the summer months are a good time to undertake some repairs, whether that maybe internal or external decoration or possibly the joy of a new boiler with floorboards up and all the other factors enjoyed by such renewals.
If you are enjoying a fruitful working relationship with your cleaner as we are, it’s good to remind oneself and them of not only how much you value them. As with any personal relationship falling into the habit of taking someone for granted can lead to a feeling of not being appreciated, so do praise where praise is due but equally let them know in an informative as opposed to a critical way of changes or additional areas to look out for.
Dessy from our cleaning partner Voila Cleaners is Gentlemans Butler cleaner. She comes once a week and looks after cleaning, bed changing and ironing.

I suggest you create an overall cleaning schedule from which you can create versions such as post building, spring cleaning, Christmas or dinner party as special occasions will not only require more time but also some different products.

Like anything in life when planning or managing someone else, we suggest you see how long something would take to do yourself or at least have a good idea how long comparable suppliers would take to achieve the same job. Also do bear in mind they are not robots and will need some breaks if working for longer periods.

In relation to any works you are having done to your property prior to the works take an array of photographs from different angles, then box up ornaments and mark the boxes, such as “bookshelf left”. Thus everything should go back with ease.
In addition, one nice touch is to try to link your rooms with fragrance and colour, especially useful after painting.
