Beautiful, luxurious, comforting and enthusiastic are all words I could use about my experience with Kate Kerr.

Kate, originally from New Zealand is really a very impressive person, and I feel I should expand a little on this. Without wanting to embarrass her, she is well dressed and greets you with a real and genuine smile. People should not underestimate how important these things are.
I think of all industries, the beauty industry needs to get this right, and there is a balance between, exterior detail and knowledge, and Kate has this spot on.
I am a real nit-picker in general. I want perfection, but perfection can be relatively simple sometimes. It’s just about having a system, doing your research, being honest and getting the job done.

Walking into a bright white reception I am handed the obligatory form to fill out, and soon after Kate came to meet me and take me through.
Walking through, past the SkinCeuticals stand Kate is situated is an extremely minimalist and funky “beauty pod” (that’s my description)
An all-white room with practically no clutter, I sit in a room bathed in light from a skylight which is unusual for beauty rooms, which tend to be deep in dark basements.
A white chair, white table and not a bed but a super cool reclining dentist style motorised chair, also in white and some white cupboards which house her secret potions and lotions.
Personally I think a comfy duvet style cover and some eye masks would be nice, but that’s a small addition to a highly positive impression.
Kate as with all good professionals sat me down, asked some questions and explained what was going to happen.
In addition explained about her all-important SKIN DNA test where she works with a top laboratory in Australia.
I was having The Advanced Dermapen Anti-ageing Treatment
Here is a step by step explanation of your treatment. Kate used cherry picked, cosmeceutical products from different ranges to target your skin specifically.
1. Cleanse – SkinCeuticals Simply Clean – A salicylic acid cleanser to deep clean and gently exfoliate the skin
2. Peel – Superficial Peel – A peel to stimulate cell renewal and improve skin congestion. Enhances the extraction process.
3. Extractions – extensive extractions of small open comedones on nose, cheeks and forehead
4. Clarifying mask – to further clarify pores and remove excess oil
5. Lymphatic drainage massage – to stimulate the natural drainage of the lymph system, carrying away waste products to detoxify the skin
6. Dermapen – Micro-needling performed using 0.3mm needles to stimulate the skin and encourage product penetration
7. Massage- anti-ageing massage using hydrating serum
8. Collagen mask – to hydrate the skin
9. Anti-ageing eye cream,
10 SPF eye cream
11. Hydrating serum
12. SPF50
Following my treatment Kate gave me some after treatment details given and products to use and a very quick cheek swab, DNA test, was done, ready to send to laboratories in Australia.
After about 3 weeks I returned to see Kate for my skin diagnosis results from my personalised FutureSkin DNA Programme.
This diagnosis is split into three sections

I was given results as a percentage, splitting risk into low, medium and high

After the results I was given a skincare prescription splitting my regime into morning and evening.
In addition I was recommended some supplements to use and very usefully some dietary and lifestyle advice and whether any aesthetic procedures were recommended.
So you can see this was definitely a skin experience worth having. The setting is excellent, the practitioner is skilled and knowledgeable, you are made to feel welcome and I trusted the information I was given.
