For almost 100 years John White from its home in Rushden, Northamptonshire has delivered footwear.

John White may have stemmed from the Shires of Northampton but Mr John White made himself well known first in the City of London around Hackney and Shoreditch, the home to many shoe traders.

Personally I come from a background of brogues, desert boots and in days gone by a winkle picker. When looking for a shoe to bring to Gentlemans Butler I liked the idea of a shoe that was half conformist and the other half a little bit rock’n’roll.  Based on a brogue, finished in blue suede, the shoe is light, stylish, very British and when you put a pair on takes a few years off. I certainly felt mmm yes, looks good, lets boogie…!! Steady on you all say, but its true.

Putting together some style for the weekend: think about John White shoes with Ted Baker for example, or a similar look as it reminded me a little of the band the Jam.

In years gone by John White was the first U.K footwear manufacturer to supply and have a department in the world famous and prestigious Macy’s in New York, it was also the biggest supplier of Army boot to troops during WWII, John White produced 1,250,000 “Impregnable” Boots and Shoes Annually.
