Gentlemans Butler joins up for NEW CHINA TOURISM CAMPAIGN

Gentlemans Butler is a member of the GREAT China Welcome Charter, an initiative which aims to make Britain the most welcoming destination in Europe for Chinese visitors. Run by VisitBritain with the support of the UK Government, the GREAT China Welcome Charter is only open to companies which have demonstrated services and facilities that are particularly suitable for Chinese visitors. By selecting a company which displays the GREAT China Welcome Chartermark a visitor from China can be confident of a warm welcome. For more information visit www.visitbritain.org/chinawelcome
Gentlemans Butler today became the 142nd company in the UK to be awarded a new Chartermark declaring it is fit to welcome Chinese visitors.
Visitors from China have doubled in the last five years and tourism bosses hope they will treble again by 2020.
The new Charter will help Chinese visitors easily identify hotels, attractions, retailers and tour operators that are making themselves ‘China-ready’ by providing information in Chinese and adapting their products for the market.
Gentlemans Butler qualified as a Charter member because it our focus on bringing the best to the forefront as our tag line “Exploring The World of An English Gentleman” embodies.
Gentlemans Butler’s Owner and Editor-in-Chief Michael Grenville said, “We pride ourselves on providing very high standards of service to all our customers and the Chinese are no exception. We are experiencing increasingly strong interest from Asia and with visits to China being organised right now China is at the forefront of our thinking.”
Sandie Dawe, Chief Executive of VisitBritain, said, “There is strong evidence that businesses who go the extra mile in catering for certain nationalities quickly reap the benefits. Gentlemans Butler is a great example of a luxury concierge and online magazine which has been quick to recognise the massive potential of the Chinese market and invested accordingly. We’re delighted to be able to count them as one of our first 150 members and hope that many more British tourism and hospitality businesses will follow their example.”
Other distinguished companies that are members include British Airways, British Museum, Café Royal Hotel, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, Selfridges, Stoke Park, Virgin Atlantic, Warner Brothers Studio Tour London, Westminster Abbey and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum
