Gentlemans Butler wearing a bespoke handmade Savile Row jacket made by Stowers of London.
Recently this was restored to its glory by the British Invisible Mending Service on Thayer Street.

The Jacket went to The Valet on Savile Row for a hand press, which is I believe the last hand pressing service in the UK.

Then it is doffed off wearing a Teardrop Fedora from BORGES & SCOTT
and wearing my tortoiseshell glasses from E.B. Meyrowitz situated on the Royal Arcade in Mayfair.

We do not regurgitate press releases but do expect honesty and storytelling of our experiences with charm

Whenever there are surveys on people of authority the answer comes nearly always that honesty and integrity is what people want. This is why we will not praise something if we do not think it’s good, but equally, we are delighted to sing from the rafters if we love.

We are not a big corporate machine, quite the opposite.
We are boutique, niche but unashamedly focused on class.

We are happy to be a bit risqué, which reminds me of my mother who was the height of elegance asking me as I was driving around Hammersmith roundabout when I was in my mid-twenties did I "like ladies in short skirts or long dresses” ….a bit of happy provocation, frivolity and cheekiness is I believe a very good thing and if someone thinks we are disrespecting women you could not be further from the truth.

We adore men and women and place a lot of emphasis on making people feel at ease and welcomed, but we also adore honesty and making people think. A good touch of bon vivant in life is no bad thing …

Purveyors of excellence and distinction, elegance defines our luxury, looking at global travel & brands in London’s Chelsea, Mayfair, Kensington, Knightsbridge & St James.

We are read by an international clientele of ladies and gentlemen who value class and elegance and for whom excellent service is a requisite.

Whether you call it a manifesto, a mission statement or a creative vision will depend on your background but we make clear our intentions to focus on these core London areas plus global travel reflecting Gentlemans Butler and our readership.

As we aim to be leaner and fitter (which applies to Michael Grenville as well… I know I have said it) … we are also planning over the next few months to bring in 3 additional areas that we have been mulling over for a while now which are:
Jewellery, Property and Finance.
We are receiving no inside bungs or commission but to give an example we adore 50 Cheyne in Chelsea
We like because of its elegant design, comfort, welcome, charm, serves delicious food that melts your soul and because you leave having had a memorable evening …….

I recently attended a so called “luxury event” at a very well known society event where I was appalled by the behaviour of the guests and I could not wait to leave…….. fortunately, we have many more of the former than the latter….
We

still very much cover ..

The art of bathing .........

....the reason for this is to say we love when ultra cool can also be super welcoming...a combination not as frequent as you might think...
When I was in Milan recently I was genuinely impressed and I dare say slightly surprised by the lovely welcome I had at the exquisite Bulgari Hotel in Milan.
Indeed this Presidential Suite is situated in an oasis of calm on a private road right in the centre of Milan.
So yes, the pleasure of bubbles both in the bath and glass is a prerequisite but the magnificent views over terracotta rooftops and the light, airy and cool summer jazz feel of the hotel brought genuine joy to my heart.
We will be looking for more such joy.
I used to manage Gwendoline Lamour, one of the UK's top Burlesque artists.
We love to feature high class naughty lingerie, decadent night spots, frivolity..
Everyone needs a touch of Ooo la la in their life ...
Take time out...Hold the person's hand you love and skip through the long grass...
Its important to embrace love...
Keep reading please. Next week new content will start going live..so stay tuned....
A Few Words about Me ...

In 2011 Michael Grenville decided to make a major shift in life. I ended a toxic business relationship, moved house from North to South London and had a major life clear out.
The same year I started Gentlemans Butler, a decision that came straight from the heart.
It was about passion and being positive in life, concentrating on the things that matter.

You can read about the origins of Le Flaneur in "The Origins of Le Flaneur", which acts as Gentlemans Butler’s narrator, their luxury newsletter.

Many of these ideals derive from my mother, a lady of class, hard work, distinction, grace, trust, and a belief in doing things properly.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU

I am a big advocate of talking, as ultimately having a conversation often delivers so much more than a pure passive experience.
Please do say hello, as you might be surprised what we can do for you.
