Eagles Palace Luxury Greek Hotel, Halkidiki
I can say with no doubt whatsoever that the Eagles Palace Hotel is exactly how a 5 star hotel in Greece should feel, as it maintains its Greek feel both with the design and with the staff whilst offering a whole selection of 5 star experiences that one should expect from a luxury stay.

The Gentlemans Butler Experience: Bags packed and right outside my door is Gentlemans Butler Chauffeur of Choice

A late night flight from London Stansted and a few hours later I arrived at Thessaloniki airport and then a little over 90 minutes by chauffeur to the hotel.
In daytime as you reach the hotel, the breath-taking Mount Athos will be in front of you. Myself and another journalist were exceptionally lucky to have had an overnight stay arranged (which is not easy) at one of the Monasteries on Mount Athos. A quick check in and then through to my room with a welcome platter of food, which I was very happy to see.

After a drink in bar it was off to bed.
I definitely liked the feel of room as it offered a simple but modern comfort.
I am a big fan of a good breakfast from all over the world but the Greeks definitely offer their own stance. Juices, honey, bread, pastries, coffee, yoghurt and a whole array of extras and I am definitely sorted.
I have to say I was really impressed by the staff, high end but friendly which matched the hotel perfectly.

There was one who really did impress massively which was Nico who served us in the restaurant on several occasions. Very friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable and just one of those staff that puts a smile on a guests face.
During our stay we ate in 4 locations, the breakfast area, out on the patio on the last afternoon where I gorged on a fantastic club sandwich, original, maybe not but having just returned from a long trip was exactly what I craved. On every day we ate, sometimes lunch and sometimes dinner at the beach restaurant and also at the main restaurant in the middle of the hotel.

As you would expect the hotel offers a whole range of activities from the spa to water sports, yoga and beyond the hotel itself.
I used the beach, spa and pool which was exactly what I wanted however if I had stayed longer I would certainly have used the water sports.
I had two massages, both with the excellent Christina. Even if your stay is short (I was there 3 days) it’s still good to have a spa treatment soon after you arrive as this relaxes you from your trip and then at a later point after some physical activity. I had pulled my shoulder muscle and so my second massage really helped with that. I had returned from Mount Athos and with the use of some excellent warming almond oil this really helped. I then went to lie on some heated loungers in the spa area which were super relaxing and she recommended I wear something warm over my shoulder in the evening. Sound advice, which was headed.

I think the beaches I have experienced in Greece are genuinely some of my favourite and even if the beach is not miles long there is something just magical about the country. A country filled full of romance, poetry, culture and beauty. Lying on the beach or by the pool looking out to sea as the sun starts to go down just fills me with joy every time I do it. I can feel the stresses of life fade away. Simple but perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food, partly because it was genuinely good but also because I am a massive fan of Greek food. It’s a cuisine that sometimes I feel is overlooked but when you have such fantastic ingredients such as herbs, tomatoes, olives, cheese, honey and much more the dishes I have eaten in Greece over the years have been some of the best ever. In many ways very simple but often the best things in life are. Eagle Palace certainly lived up to its reputation.
I enjoyed eating at the beach restaurant the best, both at lunchtime and in the evening. Simple but smart I really found the ambiance perfect.

Thoroughly recommended. Attractive in design and in personality, my advice is go, relax, eat and unwind.
