All the knits of the Absolut collections are carefully crafted from one of the rarest and most luxurious natural fibers in the world, Mongolian cashmere.
A meeting between Mongolian craftsmanship and Parisian style, the brand has chosen to work with artisans and suppliers who share its values to offer the best possible cashmere alternative.
The aim is to not just buy a sweater but adopt an eco-responsible attitude. The harvest is done by hand with local breeders collecting goat’s hair in the spring. At this time of the year, the goats no longer need this covering which protects them from the cold.
The harvested wool is obtained with a comb that allows them to recover, in the most delicate of ways, the precious fibre offered by the goats. This technique allows the goats to get rid of this excess material quicker than by naturally moulting for the warmer season. A sustainable process in inner Mongolia, intensive farming is accelerating the phenomenon of desertification as a result of overgrazing. To counter this phenomenon, the brand is committed to respecting a sustainable manufacturing process: in their production centre, respect for animals and biomass.
To further its ecological ambitions, Absolut Cashmere takes back all your old 100% cashmere sweaters in exchange for a voucher to use on their site. The fibre will be processed and re-used to give life to a regenerated cashmere, which will be part of the recycled cashmere collection.
In the future, they hope to be able to develop more and more of this process, in order to offer customers sweaters that are always of an irreproachable softness and quality, while preserving as much as possible our planet.
