It is now December 2021 and as I sit here in London, I have had to say no to two ski seasons. I am booked to return to my beloved Lech in Austria for a pre-Christmas ski trip.

I sat in my white wood floored cottage in Putney, and spoke via Zoom to Dano Bruno, the Brands Manager at Dahu Ski Boots in his Colorado home.
We started our chat talking about our own ski journeys, the state of the ski industry, its future and the challenges we all face.
For me the mountains are a spiritual place where I can lose myself from the city stresses. I enjoy the whole journey, so comfort is of a particular factor, and so the idea of a boot that creates more pleasure is highly relevant.
I was lucky enough to be taught to ski at a young age, learning in leather boots, just…. I enjoyed the heady days of 1970s and 80s ski popularity.
I spoke about how I broke my leg when I was 16 and then had both hips replaced when I was 50 (now 54) so boot and ski safety is critical.
I talk readily about the stress of the modern world and the peace, let alone the good exercise of the mountains and its wellbeing benefits are something to celebrate.
Personally, one of my top moments is taking the chair lift up through the trees and seeing the sun shine through whilst hearing the pitter patter drops of snow from the pine trees with the regular cross track sounds as the chair goes over the pylon points.
I was taken through the fitting, unclipping, settings of the boot along with the wearing in an hour long Zoom call so I was happy, with the reassurance that I could return with further questions.
